La Leche League International (LLLI) is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, and nonsectarian organization – recognized as an authority on breastfeeding around the world – founded in 1956 by seven women who wanted to help other mothers breastfeed their babies. LLLI is a core partner of the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) and maintains a close working relationship with the World Health Organization (WHO). La Leche League International has a presence in 80 countries around the world offering mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education through a network of thousands of volunteer Leaders who have breastfed their own babies, received training and were accredited by LLLI. Membership matters to both you and La Leche League. Your giving ensures that the next generation of mothers and babies can have La Leche League support available to them, and you will be saying “Thank You” to La Leche League for the gift of breastfeeding help and support you and your baby have received.
